Introduction to the AR-15/M-4 Rifle
This comprehensive 2-day training course introduces the student to the AR-15 / M-4 rifle. During this course, students will learn about one of the most popular weapon systems that law enforcement agencies across the country are adding to their arsenal. Students will become familiarized with the AR-15 / M-4 rifle and will learn the basic gun-handling skills that are necessary to safely operate and maintain this weapon system. Students will also learn about nomenclature, disassembly / reassembly, mechanical operation, care & cleaning, preventive maintenance, zeroing iron sights, shooting positions and much more.
The following topics will be covered:
- Firearms safety.
- Introduction to the AR-15 / M-4 rifle.
- Nomenclature.
- Mechanical operation of the AR-15 / M-4 rifle.
- Disassembly / reassembly.
- Function checking the AR-15 / M-4 rifle.
- Fundamentals of shooting a rifle.
- Basic gun-handling skills.
- Loading / unloading the AR-15 / M-4 rifle.
- Sling use and carry techniques.
- Zeroing iron sights.
- Understanding projectile trajectory.
- Reloading techniques.
- Malfunction clearance techniques.
- Presentation from the low ready / hunt position.
- Presentation from high ready / combat ready.
- Delivering controlled pairs and accelerated pairs.
- Threat assessment and area scanning.
- Shooting positions - standing, squatting, kneeling and prone.
- Preventive maintenance and cleaning.
- Awareness of exposure to toxic metals and solvents.

Bomb Identification/Recognition (Bomb Security for Executive Protection) Level Three Class
Course Overview:
Introduction To Explosives and Their Hazards: This session will identify the difference between high and low explosives and their chemical components. The students will learn the existing hazards associated with explosives and the dangers to first responding personnel.
Explosive Material:
The student will gain an understanding of the common types of explosives, military explosives and explosives powders. They will study the theory of explosives and how this information can assist in their explosive investigations.
Bomb Threats and Bomb Search Techniques:
The student will gain knowledge how to interview the person who took the call. How to use this information in evaluating the threat. Room search techniques, how to properly search a facility utilizing proper personnel. How to properly handle the situation once a suspicious object is located. How to properly evacuate once an object is located.
IED:
This session will introduce the students to the various forms of improvised explosive devices and how easily they are constructed.
Booby Traps:
This session deals with recognition and hazards associated with booby traps.
Crime Scene Management:
The student will learn the proper techniques for processing an explosive crime scene. They will also learn the proper procedures for distance - how far an explosive crime scene may extend.
Crime Scene Searching:
This session shows the techniques and tools required for proper explosive component searching. Documenting the evidence.
Interviewing:
The student will review basic interviewing techniques along with insight into who should be interviewed and proper location for interview.
Evidence:
The student will learn what evidence should be removed and proper packing techniques for the laboratory analysis. Laboratory analysis reports and what they mean.
Assisting Agencies:
This session deals with the different Federal Agencies and how their assistance could help in your investigation.
Motives and Case Studies:
This session will explore the number of different motives for potential bombers and will cover actual explosive cases.
Handgun & Weapon Retention Level Two Class
This course is a must for those faced with even the slightest exposure to potential firearm-disarming situations. In order for you to defend your side arm, you will need to understand weapon disarms. These techniques are street-proven and deliver in real-world situations through all four stages of weapon control (including while the weapon is holstered).
Close Quarters Confrontation Responses Level Two Class
Are you prepared to deliver safe, effective responses to sudden attacks and confrontations? Unlike fantasy moves depicted in movies and the media, reality dictates justifiable and legally defensible responses to most confrontations. This program will introduce and reinforce various responses to common threats and sudden attack/ambush situations.

The program will enhance previously learned skills and fill gaps found in traditional defensive tactics programs. The only prerequisite to attend this training is that you are employed as a Personal Protection Specialist or Law Enforcement Officer (part or full time). Level Two Class
